2. FOTO CURROHe holds a bachelor’s degree in the Humanities (with a specialization in Historical-Artistic Heritage) from the Pablo de Olavide University, and a doctorate in Art History from the University of Seville. After being awarded with a “Juan de la Cierva” postdoctoral contract from the Spanish government, he is currently working as a lecturer in the Department of Art History of the University of Granada. He is a member of the group of the Andalusian Plan for Andalusian-American Research into Cultural Heritage and Artistic Relations, and has a postgraduate diploma in management of the historical-artistic patrimony.

His lines of work center on the study of the viceregal American culture from a sociological perspective, a subject which has allowed him to delve into other areas such as patronage or celebratory rituals, and into the movement of Andalusian and American iconographic representations as a result of artistic exchanges. He has numerous publications in scientific books and journals of high impact, as well as presentations and communications made in national and international conferences. He has had academic residencies in the United States, Mexico, and Argentina. His monograph entitled Sevilla Guadalupana. Arte, historia y devoción was awarded with a second place by Seville’s City Council in the competition Archivo Hispalense 2014.  He has participated, among others, in the research and development project “Andalusia in America: Art, Culture and Syncretism”, and he is a member of the technical publishing team of “Quiroga: the journal of Latin American heritage”.
