Jose de Nordenflycht es Licenciado en Historia y Magister en Historia del Arte y la Cultura de la Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso y se ha especializado en Arquitectura, Patrimonio y Arte Chileno y Americano. Adem‡s es Presidente del Comite Chileno del Consejo Internacional de Monumentos y Sitios, ICOMOS Chile. He is the author of over one hundred articles, essays, and catalogues within his field of study, in addition to having authored or co-authored one dozen books, the most noteworthy of which are Monumentos y Sitios de Chile (Santiago, 1999), Patrimonio Local. Ensayos sobre arte, arquitectura y lugar (Valparaíso, 2004), Arte e Política. Situaçoes (Sao Paulo, 2010), Arte y Política: Argentina, Brasil, Chile y España, 1989-2004 (Madrid, 2010), Revisión/Remisión de la historiografía de las artes visuales chilenas contemporáneas (Santiago, 2011) and Post Patrimonio (Santiago, 2012).

He has been the curator for projects in the National Museum of Fine Arts (Santiago de Chile, 2000, 2005, 2007, and 2015), in the Museum of Contemporary Art (Santiago de Chile, 2002), and in the Architekturzentrum (Vienna, 2006). Trocadero (Valparaiso, 2012) and Co-Lección de Pintura (Painting Co-lesson/Co-llection) (MNBA, 2015) stand out among his most recent roles as a curator. As consultant in matters of heritage, he has participated in regional planning, historical research, and conservation and capacitation assessment projects financed by national and international organizations. He has been President of the Chilean Committee of ICOMOS, the International Council of Monuments and Sites, and Executive Secretary of the Council of National Monuments (Chile).
